Silver Strikers board of trustees will soon decide whether to hold polls for the club’s executive committee.
The board met on Saturday at Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe, where among other things, the board was reviewing the performance of the technical panel and the team in the just-ended season.
Some sections of the club are demanding for fresh elections as they are unhappy with the current executive committee led by Oscar Mabulekesi, who was elevated to the position after Mc Donald Mafuta-Mwale stepped down due to work commitments.
In an interview on Sunday, Silver board of trustees’ spokesperson, Chiku Kalilombe confirmed that the meeting took place but was elusive on what transpired.
“We will formally release a statement once we sort out the issue. But the main aim of our meeting was to review the performance of the team last season and also preparations for the next season,” Kalilombe said.
Kalilombe also confirmed that technical panel led by Young Chimodzi and Lovemore Fazili will be maintained next season.
Last week, some Silver senior players also revolted against the club’s chairperson claiming he lacks interest in the game.
The players have since threatened to leave the club if Mabulekesi will remain as the Silver chairperson.
The Central Bankers endured a difficult league campaign having finished on position five in the TNM Super League with 44 points.
Silver finished the season empty handed as they failed to defend the Standard Bank Knock-Out Cup.
