Silver Strikers coach Stain Chirwa says his charges will need to up their game in Saturday’s TNM Super League clash with Kamuzu Barracks at Dedza Stadium.

The Central Bankers are hoping to continue their revival after a slow start to the season.

The 2013/14 TNM Super League champions are on position five on the log table with 12 points from six games.

Speaking on Thursday, coach Chirwa said he was not sleeping ahead of the clash.

“KB are a very tough side especially playing them at Dedza Stadium. They have a lot of good players and they showed that in their recent games that they are capable of causing damage if we don’t up our game,” said Chirwa.

Kamuzu Barracks have managed to hold Big Bullets and Mighty Be Forward Wanderers at Dedza Stadium this season.

Silver started this season with two consecutive defeats at the hands of Bullets (1-2) before losing to Mafco (3-1) but they have managed to collect maximum points in their last four games.

“We have no injury concerns at the moment and all the players are ready for the match,” said Chirwa, whose side will be without captain Lucky Malata and forward Tigzobere Kumwenda, who are with Flames at the Cosafa Cup in South Africa.

KB are yet to beat Silver in three consecutive seasons but coach Temwa Msuku on Thursday said his charges were ready for the big encounter.

“We have not beaten Silver in three seasons but in football anything is possible and we are determined to break the jinx,” said Msuku.

The soldiers are on position eight with eight points from six games.
