The Malawian duo of Peter Banda and Duncan Nyoni will be given an official welcome at Tanzanian giants Simba Sports Club on Sunday.
Banda and Nyoni joined Simba on three-year deals from Nyasa Big Bullets and Silver Strikers, respectively.
The two players’ unveiling ceremony will be held during an event called Simba Day at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Simba have a tradition of unveiling players during the day.
According to the online edition of Tanzanian newspaper, The Citizen, Simba will play against Democratic Republic of Congo giants TP Mazembe on the day.
“Simba SC have already completed their players’ registration exercise for the next Tanzania Premier League, which is set to kick off on September 29. In the player registration exercise, the club has recruited several new faces.
“They include Yusuf Mhilu, Kibu Dennis, Israel Mwenda, Jeremiah Kisubi, Banda, Nyoni Hennock Bangala, Sadio Kanoute, Abdulsamad Kassim Ali, Pape Sakho and Steven Mwanuke,” the publication’s report reads.
The two Malawian players have also been included in Simba’s Caf Champions League squad for this season. Simba will play the winner between Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy and DFC Beme Arronoissement of Central African Republic in the first round next month.
Banda and Nyoni are expected to debut in the Tanzania Premier League against Biashara United on the first day of the season.
Banda moved to Simba after six months on loan at Moldova champions Sheriff Tiraspol, where he scored seven goals and provided 10 assists.
Nyoni helped Silver to win two Airtel Top 8 trophies in 2017 and 2019.
