SimbaNet plants 15,000 trees

SimbaNet Limited, a subsidiary of Wananchi Group of Kenya, has disclosed that it has spent close to K5 million in tree planting exercises this year.

This was disclosed at a tree planting closing exercise held at Mchemani Primary School in Traditional Authority (TA) Kabudula in Lilongwe recently.

SimbaNet Executive Assistant, Mable Nkhwazi, said the company was committed to replenish the forest reserves in the country.

“At the start of the project, a lot of trees were cut and we decided to plant tree so that we replenish the forest reserve,” Nkhwazi said.

The company has planted close to 15, 000 tree seedlings across the country.

Head Teacher at Mchemani Primary School, Florida Kadzamila, commended SimbaNet for the project, saying the school will take care of the trees.

SimbaNet is a Licensed Public Data Operator specialised in providing high speed data and Internet connectivity via Submarine Optic Fibre.

Capital Hill, through the Public Private Partnership Commission is implementing the Regional Connectivity Infrastructure Programme Project whose overall aim is to improve quality, and affordable broadband services to both public and private users.
