Unsettled goalkeeper Simplex Nthala is reportedly in Mozambique undergoing trials with Mocambola League side, Ferroviáro Maputo.
Recently, Nthala signed a two-year deal with Masters Security FC, but he was yet to feature for the newly-promoted TNM Super League side.
Sources confided in The Daily Times that the former Be Forward Wanderers custodian left for Maputo a fortnight ago.
Reports indicate that Nthala passed a medical over the weekend.
Speaking from Maputo, Nthala was reluctant to comment on his switch to the Maputo giants.
“I am still around, searching for new life. I will not comment on anything to do with Masters because I still have a running contract with them. I am just looking forward to a good and reliable job elsewhere,” Nthala said.
Masters Security FC General Secretary, Zacharia Nyirenda, said they released Nthala on the understanding that he was attending to a family issue in Blantyre.
“He is our player and he has a running contract with us. We are waiting for him and once he is done with family issues in Blantyre, he will find us,” Nyirenda said.
However, Football Association of Malawi (Fam) Transfer Matching System Manager, Casper Jangale, said he just got unconfirmed reports that Nthala was in Mozambique.
“It is up to Masters FC and the Mozambican club to agree on one thing. Once they sort out this issue, we will issue an International Transfer Certificate,” Jangale said.
Nthala was linked with a return to Wanderers last month.
