South Africa-based artist Sharon Kadangwe, who is now trading as Skeezy Creates, will this weekend hold her first exhibition to introduce herself as a painter.
She has in the past been pushing fashion but now it is time for her to show her other side and that includes painting.
The exhibition tour, titled Homecoming, starts in Lilongwe Friday and Saturday at George’s Food Truck and then Kwa Haraba Art Gallery and Café in Blantyre on Sunday afternoon.
The three sessions in Lilongwe and Blantyre will, among other things, take people on a painting session.
“There is more for people to sample and experience; we have an art exhibition and then there will also be performances. I will also have time to read from my poetry book and there will also be a question-and-answer session,” she said Thursday.
At Kwa Haraba, the event will be spiced up by performances from Hype the DJ, Mazani and Miriam Nkosi.
“It’s a mixture of artistic disciplines from visual arts poetry and music; so, everyone will experience what they love but the whole move is that I am introducing myself as a painter,” Skeezy Creates said.
