Skeffa Chimoto, Dan Lu, Lulu set for England tour
Skeffa Chimoto, Dan Lu and Lulu, are set to perform and entertain Malawians and Zambians during the Easter tour of England as they perform in Leicester, Manchester and London.
However, in an interview Skeffa said he was worried because “I love performing alongside my Real Sounds Band, but the organisers have failed to bring me along with the band and we’ll be performing with a UK based band.”
Nonetheless, the ‘Jamming Machine,’ as the ‘Chinamuluma Chakuda’ star is popularly known, dismissed fears that such an arrangement will affect his stage work; the very aspect he is acclaimed for during live shows.
“We are only hoping that these guys will help us display what we are made of,” said Chimoto who is travelling alongside Lulu of ‘N’dzalera’ fame and ‘Part of Life’ star, Dan Lu.
“I am more than ready considering the fact that I’ve never been there before,” he said, adding: “I know that Malawians and Zambians living there know me and love my songs and I will make sure to entertain them.”
Meanwhile, the mood is impressive in the UK with some Malawians travelling from as far as Scotland and Wales to watch the trio in England.
From Scottish city of Aberdeen, Wanangwa Zulu said together with five families, “we are coming in one caravan.”
“We have at least watched Lucius Banda and Black Missionaries, but the three are another business. We can’t miss the show,” said Zulu, who will watch the second show in Manchester on March 26.
From Welsh capital Cardiff, Timeo Mandiyela and Bill Mainala are travelling by bus with their families, to catch the trio during their first show on Friday in Leicester.
Reports also indicate that the three Malawian musicians will share the stage with Zambian songbird Mampi.
The three left Malawi yesterday and will arrive in the United Kingdom today.
Dan Lu posted a picture on his Facebook page yesterday when they were leaving the airport.
According to a poster on Dan Lu’s Facebook page, the trio will be part of the Easter Fusion 2016 show to be held in London on April 2, 2016.
The show will bring on board several others artists including Zambia’s Mampi.
