Lilongwe-based musician Skeffa Chimoto is expected to perform in Dublin, Ireland, for the first time on Valentine’s Day.

He said the show has been organised by Memory Kazombo of Globe Entertainment, the company which also brought Mlaka Maliro and Marco Sadick in Ireland last year.

Skeffa, nicknamed the ‘Jamming Machine’ for his energetic live performances, also confirmed yesterday that he will perform in Ireland.

“Yes I can confirm that I will perform in Ireland. I could have gone there a long time but then the organisers wanted me alone while I wanted the whole band. I have always played with my band as you know but things could not work out,” he said.

He said the organisers have assured him that they will organise a band in Ireland that will back him up.

A press release sent in by Popp Dogg quotes Skeffa as saying that this is a very big opportunity for him to perform to a different audience in Europe.

“This is a dream come true and I am looking forward to entertaining Malawians in Ireland with songs from all my albums,” said Skeffa.

Popp Dogg said he was happy to have another opportunity of performing with fellow Malawian artists having also shared the stage with Mlaka and Marco Sadick last year.

“I am looking forward to sharing the stage with Skeffa and I would like to thank the organisers for doing everything to bring local artists to Ireland for performances,” he said.
