Skeffa’s ‘Kankha’ gets massive support

Skeffa Chimoto on Thursday launched a single titled ‘Kankha’ (Push) which urges people to work hard and keep pushing until they realise their dream.
The artist with his management team decided to do things differently by launching the single live through Zodiak.
During the launch, the artist performed a number of songs including the latest single before it was auctioned with people buying it at different prices using platforms such as Airtel Money and Mpamba.
Skeffa nicknamed ‘The Jamming Machine’, for his electric and energetic live performances, performed without a band during the event.
During auction, people came out supporting the artist by buying the single.
“I am thankful to the people. I never expected such support. People are still buying the song. We just thought we should do things differently especially this time that we are not holding shows frequently due to Covid-19 pandemic,” Skeffa said.
The artist once again has shown his good side of composition by stitching the track ‘Kankha’ which has a powerful message encouraging people not to give up in life but rather to pursue their dreams regardless of the various challenges they encounter.
In the song, Skeffa has used his same traditional reggae style that separates him from other artists.
He said this was just a single and that there were no plans yet to work on an album.
Meanwhile, Skeffa also held shows over the weekend under the banner of the single.
The musician performed at Chill Spot in Mchinji on Friday before invading Kasungu Culture Club on Saturday and then Arnold in Dwangwa Sunday.
The artist went ahead with shows despite the government calling upon musicians not to resume performances due to Covid-19 pandemic.
“The support in Mchinji and Kasungu was massive. We have started shows unless otherwise,” Skeffa said.
Meanwhile, Soldier Lucius Banda and Zembani Band managed only one show in Liwonde on Saturday with the other show at Culture Club in Salima cancelled.
