Social Saturday set to heal people – Five 79

Five 79 Promotions has organised what it dubs Social Saturday taking place Saturday at Dominic’s in Blantyre.
The event is set to bring on board a variety of activities to give people a perfect treat and it includes music, fashion and live painting.
“It’s been a while since we organised an event but, looking at the way things are at the moment, we thought of giving them something. It is all about trying to help people heal from the hardships they are facing,” Five 79 Promotions Director Wisdom Phanga said.
He said from effects of Covid as well as economic ones, the event is all there to get people to realise that there is another good part of life and get them socialise with friends and family.
“The suicide rate is another indication of the rate of depression people are going through. We can only help in the situation by doing what we do as business while focusing on making sure the mood changes,” Phanga said.
He said, apart from music, fashion and live painting, people will also enjoy food and drinks during Social Saturday.
Some of the acts performing at the event include Hayze Engola, Hyphen, Piksy, DJs Mask, Andy, West, Hashtag, Gama, Bad Up and Maya.
Piksy said he was looking forward to the event.
“It will be a platform where, for the first time, I will perform my new song ‘Mtunda’. Again, I am looking forward to sharing the stage with artists such as Hayze Engola and Hyphen and also tap into their audience,” the ‘Unamata’ star said Thursday.
