Renowned musician Soldier Lucius Banda was hospitalised at Mwaiwathu Hospital in Blantyre on Monday.
The musician– who on Sunday performed at Pa Zinziri in Blantyre where he shared the stage with among others, Sam Smack, his son Johnny and Nepman— is reported to have gone for a check-up before he was admitted.
He had complained of flu upon jumping on stage at Pa Zinziri.
His son Johnny confirmed Wednesday, saying his father went for a normal check-up.
“He went for normal check-up so, doctors advised that they need to run more tests; so, he had to be admitted but he is fine,” Johnny said.
He further indicated that his father was expected to be discharged or today.
Lucius, who is also Presidential Adviser on Youth and Arts, said on Sunday that he was ready to give out more to the people in terms of music with his Zembani Band.
Despite the challenges of Covid-19, Lucius also said that this month his son Johnny would be releasing his debut single and that his adopted son Mr Friday would also be releasing a single.
