Veteran musician Soldier Lucius Banda has said he plans to release his long awaited 20th album Love and Hate next month.

He said he could have released the 16-track project but Covid and illness disturbed the plans.

“The album is ready but I could not go ahead with the release as I was unwell and then Covid also affected everything. It has been a journey and to be talking about my 20th album is such a great feat and so I am thankful to God,” Lucius said.

The musician, with successful albums such as Cease Fire, Survivor, Unity and Down Babylon to his credit, said the album includes songs such as ‘Bwerera’ and ‘Ali Yemweyo’, whose music video he launched recently.

Lucius has had no performances for some time following illness and he returned to the stage recently after his recovery.

“I am thankful to God for His healing mercies. I am also thankful to people for the support. I am looking forward to giving out more. The support I have received lately is testimony enough of the love they have for me and my music,” he said.

Last weekend, Lucius shared the stage with Patience Namadingo in a mash-up concert at Epic Lounge in Lilongwe.

“It was massive and exciting and I loved every moment. Since the mash-up with Patience Namadingo, people longed for this mash-up concert. Some missed out and felt we did not do enough in terms of publicity and, so, we might do another one in December,” Lucius said.
