Soldier to launch venue in Liwonde
Soldier Lucius Banda and his Zembani Band will on Sunday launch a new venue at Liwonde in Machinga District.
Lucius said Thursday the new venue – Kings Lodges and Resorts—will offer a platform to artists in the country.
“We need more venues as artists to showcase our works and to have this new venue, is something positive for the creative industry,” he said.
The Mabala star said the performance would also be special to people since they will be launching the venue.
“We just want to call upon people to come and be part of the launch. We just want to thank the owners for inviting us to launch the venue,” Lucius said.
Before the Sunday show— which is also expected to feature his son – Mr Zembani, Sam Smack, Nepman, Peace and Sammy Cool—Lucius and crew will perform at Fresh Minds in Mwanza tonight and then Vibes in Zomba Saturday night.
He said he was looking forward to a perfect year of arts in 2022.
“We suffered greatly as the creative sector last year. Due to Covid, we cancelled some of our events but we are hoping all will be well this year. Just to make sure that people are safe, we will observe Covid measures,” Lucius said.
