Legendary musician Lucius Banda, commonly known as Soldier, on Sunday visited fellow musician Boniface Ndamera of Lucky Stars Band, famous for the hit ‘Chinafuna Mbale’, at Gangara, BCA in Blantyre.
Ndamera is one of the artists who have been affected by Cyclone Freddy-induced disaster as part of his house got damaged. He also lost property.
The legendary artist recently called for support from Malawians of goodwill to support him following damage to his house.
“I am thankful that Lucius visited me and he gave me word of encouragement and assured me of support to rebuild my house; otherwise, it has been hard for me,” Ndamera said.
Lucius, who is also Presidential Adviser on Youth and Arts, said he is helping to rebuild Ndamera’s house. He then called upon other well-wishers to join him in supporting the legendary musician.
Cyclone Freddy has claimed hundreds of lives and damaged property.
From visiting Ndamera, the ‘Mabala’ star proceeded to visit another legendary musician Giddes Agide Chalamanda of the ‘Liny’ fame at Mazuwa Village in Chiradzulu.
“Agidde’s house is okay. I went there on official duty and it felt good to interact with him at his house with his family. I felt good at the way I was welcomed. When he was invited to State House in Lilongwe by President Lazarus Chakwera, he asked for assistance on a number of things and, so, I came to check if some things were fulfilled,” he said.
