Strategic Vision, a San Diego-based research consultancy, has awarded Sorento the Most Loved Vehicle in the highly-competitive Mid-Size Crossover Utility Vehicle segment based on its Customer Love Index.
HTD Malawi, who are the sole franchise holder of KIA in Malawi, said in a statement the award was based on a series of online and written questionnaires called the New Vehicle Experience Study.
“Three months after purchase, owners are asked to rate their new vehicles based on 120 different factors from seat comfort and engine performance to their emotional attachment to their new vehicle. Responses determine rank on the Customer Love Index and the 2016 Sorento scored top of its class,” the statement said.
The statement also quotes Orth Hedrick, Vice President of Product Planning at KIA Motors America as saying that the award is significant as it recognises the hard work KIA staff put in to assemble the vehicle.
This year marks 22 years since Strategic Vision has been conducting the New Vehicle Experience Study and it surveyed 38,763 new owners of vehicles purchased between October 2015 and April 2016.
