South Africa-based musician, Edward Manuel Correia, who stars as I’Corrie in the music circles, has announced that he will release his debut album I Love My Africa on April 23 2020.
Having impressed with his promotional tracks ‘Source of Life’ and ‘Timutumbike’, I’Corrie, said he has worked very hard on the album and that he was now ready to give it to the people.
The album which has 10 songs has been recorded and mixed at Blue Art Studio in South Africa by the country’s renowned musician and producer Chris Kele.
Kele heaped praise on I’Corrie recently describing him as a serious musician, who was in the industry with a purpose and not just to make up numbers.
The dreadlocked musician, said his music was there to bring about change culturally, morally and emotionally.
“Music has potential to change moods, to shift atmosphere, increase happiness and bring about better health. All this is contained in my music. Music encourages a different behavior, it highlights problems, disseminate key information and inspire people,” he said.
Having worked with Kele, who has also collaborated with lots of musicians in the country, I’Corrie, also expanded his base to pre-master the album at Downtown Music Hub in South Africa using the skills of Papi Diretse.
“It is an album that will surely help bring change in the society. I am happy that I have received positive reviews from the four singles I dropped,” I’Corrie said.
The musician said the album will be available on all online platforms.
“With technology we are talking online platforms and that is why I have embraced that. With funds permitting I am even looking at launching the album,” he said.
Some of the songs people are expected to sample in the album include ‘Ndithokoza Amai (Siyabonga)’, ‘I Love My Africa’, ‘Beautiful Malawi’, ‘ You Don’t Know’, ‘ Oh Mama’, and ‘Why You Run Away’.
