South African Airways sees more opportunities
South African Airways (SAA) says there is vast business potential in the country’s airline industry, hence the need for creation of a more enabling environment.
SAA Acting Country Manager, Lawrence Gwaza, said in the years to come, the market is likely to have additional entrants which will help further improve competition.
He was speaking when the firm awarded some of its travel agents for outstanding performance to its business in the year.
He touted the existing business potential in the local airline industry saying the country is exposed to international markets.
“There is potential in Malawi that is why you see most airlines are coming to Malawi. I am told more airlines are planning to enter the market and there will be more competition and in the event that we have more competition, there will be an improvement in service delivery,” Gwaza said.
He commended the business’ travel agents for their contribution to the growth of the business.
“Most of our business comes from the travel agents and they are the public face of our business,” he said.
