Men’s ministry of South Lunzu’s Church of Central African Presbyterian (CCAP) in Machinjiri, Blantyre on Saturday donated groceries and cash to 12 households belonging to the elderly, orphans and widows from the church’s six cottages.

Resident Pastor Reverend, Anderson Juma commended the men’s grouping for deciding to show love through the donation.

“As a church, there are many areas that need our attention and support, and one of them is the caring of the most disadvantaged amidst us. I commend the men for contributing to this cause and ensuring they made a difference wherever they go.” Juma, who led the men during the donation, said.

Chairperson for the Men’s Ministry, Majoni Nkhoma said they decided to donate the items in response to Jesus Christ’s call to love one another just like He loves the Church.

“We are acting on the word because our master calls upon us to have love for one another and show this love through our benevolence… action is more important than words.” Nkhoma said.

One of the beneficiaries, a Mayi Lydia, thanked the men’s grouping for the donation.

“May the Lord richly bless you and return into your pockets a hundred fold,” said the widow said.

Each of the beneficiaries received a pack containing washing and laundry soap, sugar, 10 kilogrammes of maize flour, salt and K2,000 cash.
