Southern Region Football Association gala March 11
Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) together with their sponsor, Masters Security Services (MSS), will honour outstanding teams and players for the 2016 season on March 11.
Teams to be honoured include Premier Division champions Blantyre United.
SRFA Chairperson, Raphael Humba and MSS Director, Alfred Gangata, confirmed that the prize presentation will no longer take place at Bingu International Conference Centre in Lilongwe as earlier announced.
Humba said they reasoned with the sponsor that hosting the ceremony in Lilongwe would have been awkward as the league is headquartered in Blantyre.
The ceremony will now take place at Football Association of Malawi’s Mpira Village in Chiwembe Township, Blantyre.
“We are expecting a lot on this day because we have proposed to our sponsor to consider increasing sponsorship,” Humba said.
Gangata said his company wants to make the awards’ gala colourful with musician Lucius Banda and his Zembani Band expected to perform live.
A friendly match between Central Region Premier Division champions Masters Security FC and Blantyre United is also expected to spice up the occasion. Gangata owns Masters Security FC.
