Sparc develops education portal

Sparc Systems, an ICT firm operating in a number of countries within the region, has introduced an integrated IT system to ease record keeping in the education sector.
Dubbed Student Record Academic Information Systems, the software has been developed to be hosting data for institutions of higher learning within the country and abroad.
The system is to be used by colleges and universities to manage student records and provide a view of the institutions.
The system gives access to students, lecturers, wardens, administrators, registrars, principals and others to do their work smoothly.
For the industry, the system allows players to search for education credentials for existing and potential employees.
Students can also export their transcript to potential employers.
Sparc System Group Managing Director Wisely Phiri told journalists on Tuesday that the system was a game-changer in the education sector.
“This is a fully-fledged system to help schools. And as of now, we are targeting colleges and the universities.
“We have noticed that most institutions do not have a way of verifying academic documents. With our system, we are able to digitally store academic documents, including transcripts, which are verifiable,” Phiri said.
He said the system was secure and was developed in a way that data would be protected from interference.
Phiri said the system had been created to ease challenges universities face.
