Sparc Systems opens subsidiary in Rwanda
Sparc Systems, a 100 percent Malawian owned information technology company, has started extending its footprint onto the international market and is now set to launch a subsidiary and IT hub in Kigali, Rwanda.
Sparc Systems managing director Wisley Phiri said the company is now focused on becoming an IT power house for Africa and that the hub in Kigali is targeted at the east African market.
“After Rwanda, we will open another hub in west Africa while we are also setting up an advanced centre in Lilongwe to operate as the hub for Southern Africa,” said Phiri.
The hub in Kigali opened its doors in November last year and it set to be officially launched by mid this year.
“This is the hub for east Africa markets from where branches will be opened across the region. The hubs will have all the requirements like training centres as per our standards. They will report to the head office in Malawi,” he said.
He said Sparc Systems engineers are certified on a global level and that the company has been able to secure and execute major international contracts in about eight African countries.
Phiri said the expansion will also provide room for the company’s growth due to limited opportunities because of the economic challenges prevailing in Malawi.
“We can grow our business by gaining from the other economies,” said Phiri.
Sparc Systems, among other things, offers a range of ICT enterprise solutions, with primary focus on supporting ICT infrastructure to the financial sector, telecommunication and the government.
The company also undertakes modern design of the ICT infrastructure solutions like data consolidation, disaster recovery and data replication.
