SRFA battle rages on
Battle for honours in 2016 Masters Security Services Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) Premier Division is expected to get stiff this weekend with exciting fixtures on the menu.
After being knocked out of the Presidential Cup by Nyasa Big Bullets during the week, MDF Marine seek redemption against Blantyre United at Kamuzu Stadium today in a lunch hour kick-off.
United have a point to prove after going down 2-1 against Cobbe Barracks in the league’s opener last weekend.
But for Marine, this is a perfect opportunity to extend their lead at the top after clobbering Chanco FC 4-0 last weekend.
“Our experience in the Presidential Cup has taught us valuable lessons. We put up a good fight against the Super League champions, and that gives us confidence that we will do well in the Premier Division,” said Marine’s coach, Hansley Ziusa.
In other fixtures on Saturday, Changalume Barracks host Prison United, BNC Produsak face Zomba United at Mpira Stadium, Chanco host White Eagles at Chirunga Stadium and Fomo face Polytechnic.
Tomorrow’s fixture: Matamando v Nchalo United, Michiru Madrid v MDF Marine, White Eagles v Fomo, Changalume Barracks v Mangochi Police, Hard Knockers v Cobbe Barracks and Poly FC v Be Forward Wanderers Reserve
