Southern Region Volleyball League (SRVL) has identified six teams that will represent the region at this year’s Raiply national volleyball championship slated for Mzuzu from Friday to Saturday.
SRVL held a qualifying championship at College of Medicine Sports Complex over the weekend courtesy of Jappie Mhango’s K2.5 million funding.

Gemze merged champions in ladies section and have been joined by second-placed Blazers and third-placed Mangochi Queens.
The qualifying championship attracted 12 male teams and seven female sides that battled over two days.
Gemz Captain Twambilire Chalemba attributed their success to team work as they prepare for the national championship.
“It was mostly about team spirit and work. We were playing as a team and not as individuals. This time around we will take our best squad to the national finals. As I said we started preparing sometime back,” she said.
Blazers Captain Zione Daudi said they had learnt valuable lessons and promised to rectify their mistakes before the national finals.
Men’s runners-up Artillery Captain Chifundo Tonde said it was a difficult match.
“We were well prepared. It is only that our friends were lucky. We have identified our weakness and will work on them. We will intensify our training before the finals,” he said.
Meanwhile, SRVL Treasurer Blessings Nkhata has said it was a successful tournament and urged clubs to work hard to do well at the national finals.
