Tnm Super League giants, Silver Strikers and Nyasa Big Bullets, fired blanks as they played out to a goal-less draw at Silver Stadium on Sunday.

Both teams had a chance to displace Mafco at the summit of the log table but they fluffed it.

Silver and Bullets are going through similar bad patch in the TNM Super League having gone three consecutive games without a victory.

For Silver, they are going through a goal-drought in the league after three consecutive goal-less draws against Epac, Civo United and Bullets.

Silver are second with 43 points from 23 games whereas Bullets remain third with 42 points from 24 games. Mafco lead with 44 points.

It was a balanced affair as both teams were guilty of missing scoring opportunities. Diverson Mlozi was the main culprit when he wasted two golden chances whereas Tizgobere Kumwenda for Silver also missed a similar number of chances.

But credit should also go to defenders from both camps as they kept strikers at bay.

After the game, Silver’s Assistant Coach, Lovemore Fazili, admitted the draw was a bad result but refused to throw in the towel.

“We are frustrated by a lack of goals but we will rectify the problem. The good thing is that we are still in the title race and we will fight down to the wire,” he said.

Bullets’ Team Manager, Rahim Ishmael, was contented with the result, promising fans that his side will not give up.

“We will jealously safeguard the league title and no team will snatch it from us this season,” Ishmael said.

Elsewhere, Blue Eagles were beaten 2-1 by rookies, Karonga United, at Mzuzu Stadium. Epac collected maximum points after beating Mzuni 3-1 at Civo Stadium.
