Standard Bank Group has scooped a number of prestigious global awards including being named best overall bank for cash management and financial risk management in Africa.
The awards were presented at the annual Sibos conference currently underway in Geneva.
In all, the bank scooped 23 accolades from Global Finance Magazine, one award from Euromoney and three addit ional awards from EMEA Finance Treasury Services, according to a statement from the bank released Thursday.
Standard Bank Head of Transactional Products and Services, Hasan Khan, said the accolades reaffirm the relevance of Standard Bank’s universal banking proposition.
“We partner with our clients in identifying, managing and leveraging growth in Africa,” the statement quoted Khan as saying.
Standard Bank was recently named Best Transactional Bank for Africa 2016 by The Banker, and has also been named Best Trade Bank in sub- Saharan Africa and Best Trade Bank in Africa by Trade and Forfaiting Review.
Despite global economic headwinds, an uptick in domestic and intra-African business and trade growth is highlighting the importance of transactional banking on the continent.
And with Africa positioned as the world’s second fastest growing region, Standard Bank said it remains committed to facilitating and growing domestic business and intra-continental trade.
