Malawi Stock Exchange- listed Standard Bank Malawi, in partnership with integrated mobile phone network and ICT services provider TNM, on Friday introduced free internet services to customers accessing digital banking services.
Standard Bank Head of Personal Markets, Charity Mughogho, said free internet access gives customers unlimited power to access all the bank’s digital platforms without a cost on data bundles.
“With the free internet access, Standard Bank is re-writing the rule of access to mobile banking by offering free internet attached to digital transactions more accessible, flexible and cheaper to customers,” Mughogho said.
To access the service, Mughogho said customers are required to first access the bank’s 247 online or use the 247 application.
She said this would ease and drive usage of digital channels which provide convenience to customers.
TNM Chief Enterprise Services Officer, Vishvajee Deshmukh, said the company was pleased to be part of the innovation that enables businesses to offer world-class solutions to customers.
“What this means is that customers are able to enjoy free internet access when accessing Standard Bank internet banking services using TNM. This way, we are removing the connectivity barriers to those who want to use internet and achieve greater productivity,” Deshmukh said.
The free access banking service is applicable on TNM pre-paid only.
