Humanity is most lost in the world of comparisons. Often, we compare ourselves with those that are far ahead of us to the extent that at times we belittle ourselves further. In the end, we stop working hard at polishing our competencies. But truth be told, we achieve with what we have and not with what we ought to have. We use the talents and skills we have to achieve greatness.
Look at the talent you have. Look at the skills that you have. At present they may not seem to be making a difference to you because you are still polishing them. The fact that you are unemployed does not make you a lesser being in the world.
The fact that your dreams are taking long to be realised is no cause for suicide or giving up. Sometimes, as fallen actor Boseman Chadwick said, we have to go through the pains of defeat to realise the greatness that God predestined for us. Some failures we encounter along the way are just signals directing us to the right path.
Never consider yourself worthless no matter the circumstances. While you sit down and mourn, there are many people in this world that would cherish if only they were you. They are in deplorable situation that give them no iota of hope. To them life is a chain of endless miseries and lamentations.
In 2015, a renowned leadership expert and speaker Rene Carayol gave stunning statistics that if reflected upon will see you realise that you are more blessed and have no reason to shed tears in life. Though six years down the line, the statistics may not have improved for the better. Carayol stressed the following:
If you have waked up with more health than illness you are more blessed than 1 million people who will not survive this week.
If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of five hundred million people in the world
If you can attend a place of worship without fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death, you are more blessed than 3 billion people in the world.
If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof over head just to sleep you are richer than seventy five percent of this world.
If you have money in your bank, in your wallet and spare change in some place, you are among the top eight percent of the world’s wealthy
If you can read this message, you have just received a double blessing. It means that someone somewhere was thinking about you. Furthermore you are more blessed than two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.
Having realised such statistics will you keep on wasting time mourning? You are well positioned to be successful. You have all you need to change your life. Truth be told, the book you want to write will not write itself if you do not sit down with a pen and pain to write your ideas. The business empire you want to build will not miraculously appear just because you envision it. You have to start implementing the business empire dream. You nest ideas to be a great musician, sporting icon, or anything you want to be, start now. You are the only thing in between what you are and what you can be. The bridging element is just to start becoming that which you crave to be.
The moment you start appreciating the small gifts you have, those little blessings that divine power embodied you with, you will s t a r t working on them every day. Even when you seem to be falling along the way, you will have the courage never to give up. Do not waste your time crying to have the talent and skills others have. They are no better than you. They are no smarter than you. They just worked hard on that which they have. If you start working on your blessings surely you are destined for success.
Rene Carayol teaches: “Work like you don’t need the money. Love like you have never been hurt. Dance like nobody is watching. Sing like nobody is listening. Live like it is heaven on earth.”
