Struggling giants seek Nsejjere League redemption


Week 14 of the 2015 Nsejjere Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) Premier Division provides an opportunity for some teams to start living up to their pre-season billing.

Despite being tipped as Super League promotion favourites, some top teams such as Blantyre United and Zomba United have struggled this season. They are currently outside the top 10 on the standings.

Blantyre United are on position 11 with 22 points from 16 matches while Zomba United occupy position 13 with 19 points from 13 matches.


Last season’s runners-up, Cobbe Barracks, are enjoying life at the top having played 16 games to collect 36 points.

Max Bullets come second with 29 points from 15 matches while Nchalo United are third with 28 points earned in 17 matches.

Zomba United face yet another tough challenge today when they host fifth-placed Evirom at Works Ground, Zomba.


Seventh-placed Changalume Barracks host Nyasa United at Zomba Community Centre Ground also this afternoon.

Wanderers Reserve, who are on position 14, face White Eagles at Kamuzu Stadium while relegation-threatened Poly FC host Mangochi Police today.

Tomorrow, leaders Cobbe host Blantyre United at Zomba Community Centre Ground.

Max Bullets face Changalume Barracks at Sedi while Nyasa United host Mangochi Police at BAT Ground.

Michiru Madrid and Chanco battle at Kamuzu Stadium while Nchalo United host Sparc Hawks at Kalulu Stadium.
