Sulom, Nitel optimistic on advance ticket sales


Super League of Malawi (Sulom) Vice General Secretary Zacharia Nyirenda has said they are hoping to reap the fruits of advance ticket sales after the body partnered Nitel.
The company would handle advance ticket sales and gate management this season which gets underway today.
Nyirenda said there would be advance ticket sales in all the venues across the country.
“We engaged Nitel to man the ticketing as we are also eager to follow all Covid-19 preventive measures as directed by the Malawi government and Football Association of Malawi (Fam),” he said.
Meanwhile, Nitel’s Head of Business and Sales Godwin Chimseu, while confirming the development, said all was set for Blantyre (South) games in terms of selling points whereas other venues in Central and Northern regions were expected to be finalised Friday.
“We have developed high quality tickets with vital security features that are thermal printed with barcodes. They also have scanning access control measures,” he said.
Meanwhile, Fam Covid-19 Taskforce Chairperson Chimango Munthali has urged fans to strictly follow all protocols to protect every stakeholder from the pandemic.
“It has taken us months to convince government to allow fans return to football matches and there is a lot at stake. It is our hope that every stakeholders will adhere to Covid-19 guidelines,” he said.
