Sunset Casa’s arts events foray

PERFORMED—Chalamanda

After hosting Giddes Chalamanda, popularly known as Agidde, on December 17 this year, Blantyre-based Sunset Casa managers have vowed to turn the venue into an entertainment mecca.

The venue, which is situated close to the Clock Tower in Blantyre, welcomed Chalamanda for the first time in his career this month, at an event that saw artists such as Agidde himself and Paul Subili being decorated with certificates for their contribution to Malawi music.

Apart from Chalamanda, this month saw Nep Sounds Band performing at the venue.

Sunset Casa owner Agness Mtimaukanena said they would make artistic events part of services on offer at the venue, which borders Petroda Filling Station as one gets into Blantyre Central Business District.

“We want people to be enjoying. This is an open place where people can even come with their family members. In fact, we have enough packing space for all types of vehicles,” she said.
