Teams are leaving no stone unturned in their preparations for the resumption of TNM Super League matches Friday.

The return ends a period of inactivity that followed the imposition of the government’s coronavirus preventative measures in January this year.

Silver Strikers Chief Executive Officer Thokozani Chimbali said they were geared for the restart.

“Our preparations are on track and we are satisfied with the fitness of the players. The coaches want to continue from where they left off and it is our hope that we will smile at the end of the season,” Chimbali said.

Silver lead the log table with 19 points from nine matches, at par with second and third-placed Ekwendeni Hammers and Red Lions, respectively.

Civo Service United General Secretary Ronald Chiwaula said, after beefing up their squad with some experienced players, they are set for the restart.

“Our aim is to fight for the top four this season. We will try our best to motivate the players so that we get what we want,” Chiwaula said.

Ekwendeni patron Gift Mkandawire said they are eager to fulfil their mission of becoming the first Northern Region side to lift the Super League title.

“We are fully prepared to continue collecting points as we did before the season was suspended. We are excited to return to action. Our players will give out their best as they want to impress our new sponsor who will be watching them in action,” Mkandawire said.

Three matches have been lined up for tomorrow, with four sets to be played on Saturday.

In tomorrow’s action, Lions will host Mzuzu Warriors at Chiwembe whereas Civo will take on TN Stars at Civo Stadium.

Mighty Tigers will be in action against Ntopwa at Kamuzu Stadium.

On Saturday, defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets will face Warriors at Kamuzu Stadium with Ekwendeni hosting Mighty Wanderers at Mzuzu Stadium.

Mafco will be on the road against Karonga United at Karonga Ground whereas Kamuzu Barracks will meet Blue Eagles at Civo Stadium.

Action continues on Sunday as Eagles host Civo at Nankhaka Stadium whereas Moyale will lock horns with Wanderers.
