Super League to end November 19


The 2022 TNM Super League season will end on season with at least three fixtures taking place on the day, officials have disclosed.

Super League of Malawi (Sulom) General Secretary Williams Banda was confident the body will not change the fixtures again.

“We are set to finish the 2022 TNM Super League season on November 19 when the last matches in the league will be played. Currently, we that they will not be any change to the fixtures,” he said.

Banda was speaking ahead of today’s matches with Mighty Tigers hosting defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets at Mpira Stadium in Chiwembe, Blantyre.

Bullets need four points from their four remaining matches to retain the championship as they top the league with 61 points from 26 games while Tigers lie on position 12 with 31 points from 29 games.

The match comes after Bullets announced the signing of striker Maxwell Gasten Phodo on a three-year deal after the forward left Silver Strikers following the expiry of his contract.

In another match, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers will face Moyale Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium.

Wanderers are fifth with 50 points from 26 matches while Moyale are seventh with 43 points from 28 games.

In other games slated for this afternoon, Kamuzu Barracks will entertain TN Stars at Champion Stadium in Mponela while Mafco will take on Karonga United at Chitowe Stadium.
