South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) giants, SuperSport United, have reportedly shown interest in assessing Be Forward Wanderers versatile attacker Yamikani Chester and promising defender Stanley Sanudi after their impressive performances at the Cosafa Castle Cup.
Reports suggest that SuperSport, through their scout, stormed the Flames’ hotel to inquire about the two players during the tournament underway in South Africa. The Flames have since returned home after crashing out of the group stages..
Wanderers General Secretary, Mike Butao, Sunday said SuperSport were yet to formalise their interest in the players.
“Somebody told us that SuperSport want to assess the players and we have asked the person to tell them to formalise everything. As a club, we cannot stand in the players’ way if they want to assess them,” Butao said.
SuperSport Coach, Eric Tinkler, could not be reached yesterday.
Despite the Flames’ poor showing at the Cosafa Cup, some players, including Dalitso Sailesi of Nyasa Big Bullets, shone during the tournament.
Sailesi was named man-of-the-match in the game against Mauritius followed by Bullets goalkeeper Ernest Kakhobwe in Thursday’s match against Angola.
Reports suggest that several foreign clubs are also interested in the former Blantyre United midfielder.
Chester known for his pace, dribbling and goal scoring prowess has been in top form for Wanderers after joining from Azam Tigers this season.
Sanudi is one the best right backs in the country due to his consistency and confidence on the ball.
