Female gospel singer Thoko Suya returns to the limelight this Sunday to launch a double CD and DVD for her latest album titled Adzandinyamula (He will lift me up) at Robin’s Park in Blantyre.

The artist beaming with confidence said on Monday that the launch is special as the album brings what she says are songs of victory as well as testimony that God is able after healing her.

The gospel artist has for the past months been on a sick bed suffering from high blood pressure which later affected her kidneys such that she had to undergo dialysis.

It has not been easy for the songstress, who came to the gospel scene in 2006 having released her debut album Amandikonda which features songs such as ‘Wauka,’ ‘Lemekeza,’ ‘Odikira,’ and ‘Lengeleni.’

“I have a testimony to tell that there is nothing that can fail God, God can heal every other disease and at the same time God knows our future, He is the potter and we are the clay so He knows what to do. I have been sick for two months and in all this I was in the intensive care unit,” she says.

Thoko who is married to Pastor Chris Suya currently ministering at Assemblies of God, Nkolokoti in Blantyre says her previous two albums Amandikonda and Ndimamukonda has songs which God was giving her when she was asking for the renditions.

“This latest album has songs I was composing in the hospital when I was in pain. God was appearing to me and I kept on speaking His word and thus some songs came up,” she says.

Some of the songs in her third album in which she has featured Apostle Enesia Chitheka Lewis who was billed to perform but is currently undergoing treatment in South Africa include ‘Ndidzabweza Chani,’ ‘Ndichizeni,’ ‘Mmalo Mwanga,’ ‘Yewo,’ ‘Zidzakhala Bwino,’ ‘Dzuka Uwale,’ ‘Mtsinje Wochiza,’ ‘Zinsinsi,’ and ‘Mbusa Wanga.’

The 10- track album which is already on the market was produced by Joseph Tembo.

“I have decided to go for a double because I want people to enjoy the songs on both audio and video. They are powerful songs and that’s why I decided to go for a double launch,” she said.

The artist revealed that she underwent dialysis six times and that during this time she learnt so much about the greatness of God.

“I have learnt that when you are still strong you have to love God, fear God and pray because when you are in pain, God still remembers you. When I was sick what made me speak about God is because I kept the word of God and planted it,” says the singer.

She further says that God knows how to deal with us the way He wants and thus how she composed the song ‘Zinsinsi.’
