The last time Symon and Kendall released new songs was last year when they dropped a new album Nataliah.
But they have resurfaced again with a remake of the late Allan Namoko’s anthem ‘Zonsezonse’.
The duo of the ‘Nyemba Nyemba’ fame have used the chorus of Namoko’s track and then brought in their own fresh lyrics.
Symon and Kendall have also fused in reggae in the song which will be released on Friday.
The duo have already reached out to people about the release of the song through social media. They have since released a trailer of the music video of the song.
Asked whether their remaking of Namoko’s song was to honour the artist, Symon Kamlaka, said Namoko’s song has a powerful message.
“We have not taken the whole song, we were just interest in the chorus. The chorus is powerful because it talks about life and basically we are looking at issues of what happens in life. So it is a song where we want to give hope to the hopeless,” Kamlaka said.
He said they already finalised the audio and that now they were making final touches on the music video.
“The last time people saw us performing was during rallies and some have been asking us to come out with new songs having been occupied with political rallies. So this is an announcement that we are still there as Symon and Kendall and they should look forward to more music. This is just a single by the way,” he said.
