Mpingwe Sports Club Grey filled the last quarterfinals’ slot of the on-going T20 Cricket tournament when they beat Indian Sports Club at Oriental Cricket Club in Blantyre.
Indian Sports Club made 144 runs in 20-overs, but Mpingwe Grey were more ruthless when they made the same number of runs in less than 20-overs.
The competition’s organising chairperson, Saeed Limdawala, said the tournament progressed well.
“All the teams were prepared for the round-of-16 tie, but Mpingwe Grey were ruthless. The quarterfinals will be held next week and we hope to witness mouth-watering games,” he said.
In the first quarterfinal to be staged at Indian Sports Club, Mpingwe Silver meet Oriental Cricket Club in the morning before paving the way for Mpingwe Blue to date Mpingwe Gold.
Oriental Cricket Club will host two quarterfinals with Mpingwe Purple battling against Mpingwe Grey in the opening match while Mpingwe Orange will entertain Mpingwe White.
