Malawi women’s national football team Captain, Tabitha Chawinga, netted four goals Tuesday to guide her Chinese top-flight league side, Jiangsu Sunning, to a 4-2 win over Uhani.
The win saw the Chinese Women’s Football League side qualifying for the semi-final of a national cup for the Asian country.
“It feels so good to score all the goals. The league is on break and we are now concentrating on the cup games,” the 21-year-old striker said.
She has seven goals in two cup games after scoring a hat-trick last week.
The former Lilongwe’s DD Sunshine player also leads the Chinese league Golden Boot Award chase with nine goals in six games.
Chawinga signed for Sunning from Swedish club Kvarnsveden in a record K124 million transfer fee. She signed a two-year contract with Sunning.
