Free-scoring Malawian striker Tabitha Chawinga netted a hat-trick as Kvarnsvedens thrashed Ostersund 6-0 on Saturday.
The former DD Sunshine forward has taken her goal tally to 38, two behind her target, with just four games remaining to wrap up the season.
Before the start of the season, Chawinga set herself a target of 40 goals. In an interview on Sunday, Chawinga was pleased with her progress in Sweden.
“I am working hard and I will score more than 40 goals. It has been a good season for me and the club,” she said.
Kvarnsvedens are certain of playing in the top-flight league next season as they lead the log table with 38 points, 13 ahead of second-placed Durgardens. However, Durgardens have a game in hand.
If Kvarvedens earn promotion, DD Sunshine will pocket $2000 as a bonus according to the agreement between the two clubs.
Last year, Chawinga finished as the top goal scorer in the third-tier league with 38 goals while playing for Krokom/ Dvarsatts.
