Talent earns fan Levixone’s shoes

A fan was all smiles on the last day of the three-day Sand Music Festival held at Sunbird Nkopola in Mangochi District when his singing prowess earned him Ugandan gospel musician Levixone’s Nike shoes.

During his set on Sunday night, Levixone invited four people to the stage to sing and one of them did exceptionally well and won the heart of the Ugandan musician.

He then asked the fan to choose anything on his body that would be given to him.

The fan did not hesitate but chose Nike shoes which he wore outright on stage before he made a short speech.

“This is how God works; I never knew I would be given a shoe by a musician from Ugandan. I am thankful,” he said.

The fan felt like it was a dream but Levixone told him that the shoe was his and encouraged him to utilise his talent.

Levixone, real name Sam Lucas Lubyogo, who during the show also collaborated with Wendy Harawa in the song ‘Zikomo’, said there was beauty and fire in ministering God’s word through music, hence also taking time to inspire other people but also help wherever the need be.

The artist had to finish off part of his performance without shoes which he surrendered to the fan.

“To me, gospel music is a ministry. I serve God with it and there is beauty in singing for him and, within that, it is also important to help and, so, I am happy that I rewarded talent,” he said.

It was the first time for Levixone to perform at Sand Music Festival but not the first time to be in the country as, a few months ago, he worked with Wendy in the track ‘Zikomo’.

The creator of the track ‘Chikibombe’ described Malawi as a beautiful country with loving people.

“I love Malawi and I am happy to be part of this year’s Sand Music Festival. I have enjoyed every moment,” Levixone said.
