Tanzania giants eye Harry Nyirenda
Tanzania side, Simba Football Club, are reportedly interested in Malawi National Football Team defender, Harry Nyirenda, whose contract with South Africa’s Black Leopards expires at the end of the month.
Speaking from Zimbabwe where he played in the 0-3 loss to the Warriors on Sunday, Nyirenda said he was waiting for another offer from Highlands Park FC of South Africa.
Nyirenda, who has spent six years at Leopards, confirmed that he met officials of Simba after the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Group L qualifier at Rufaro Stadium in Harare.
He said he was going through Simba’s contract while weighing the options as he might join Highlands Park once they earn Premier Soccer League promotion in South Africa.
Highlands lead the National First Division play-offs.
“Simba officials came to watch our game and we had a discussion with them, but I am not in a rush because Highlands Park have also shown interest to sign me. It is time to face another challenge somewhere,” the former Be Forward Wanderers captain said.
