By Sam Banda Jnr:
Ugandan comedian Teacher Mpamire will perform for the second time in the country, having starred here with fellow Ugandan comedians Cotilda Inapo and Annie Kansiime in 2017.
Unlike in 2017, when he only performed in Blantyre and Lilongwe, he will, this time around, hold three performances including in the Northern Region.
The comedian, well known for his tagline ‘Teacher Mpamire what?’, arrived in the country Thursday afternoon.
Initially, he was expected to arrive on Wednesday but missed his flight.
The first show for the Ugandan comedian, high school teacher and comedian famous for mimicking Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni is tonight at Sunbird Mzuzu, with the second set for tomorrow night at Sunbird Capital Hotel in Lilongwe and then the last show at Sunbird Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre on Sunday.
Mpamire is performing in the country in a show dubbed Teacher Mpamire Tour, courtesy of Sunbird Hotels and Resorts in partnership with Qoncept Creatives.
Mpamire, real name Herbert Ssegujja, said in 2017 that he was thankful for the support that people gave him hence his comeback.
The Ugandan will share the stage with stand-up comedian Nya Uyu, comedian and musician Patience Namadingo and musician Faith Mussa, who is fresh from his exploits in Europe.
Qoncept Creatives Creative Director, Q Malewezi, said Thursday all was set for the three shows, which will, per head, cost K20,000 on entry for VIP and K10,000 for standard ticket.
