TNM Super League champions, Kamuzu Barracks and last season’s runners–up, Nyasa Big Bullets, have intensified their preparations ahead of the new season slated for April.

The soldiers and Bullets were expected to regroup on Tuesday.

KB’s Team Manager, Francis Shaba, said they would start the pre-season by conducting trials to identify three players to beef up the squad.

“We want to beef up the squad with a defender, midfielder and a striker. It would also be important to have a tall goalkeeper like Leman Nthala,” Shaba said.

Elsewhere, Bullets regrouped yesterday at Kamuzu Stadium and Head Coach Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan said the first training session was all about getting players physically fit.

Ramadhan said he would ensure that the team gels before the start of the season.

“It was a good training session. We were supposed to start training on Monday, but we failed due to other logistical challenges. Being the first day, I am so happy. The players have shown that they want to achieve a lot in 2017,” Ramadhan said.

Mean while, Blue Eagles and Be Forward Wanderers have also announced that their preparations will start today.

Eagles’ General Manager, Gabriel Chirwa, said they would start training with new players only.

Blantyre United were the first to resume training a fortnight ago at Escom Ground in Blantyre.

Meanwhile, Epac General Secretary, Chiyamiko Lita, has said the team was expected to start training yesterday.

Red Lions, Premier Bet Wizards and Tigers will regroup next week.
