Wuhan are undefeated in the Chinese Super League with nine points from three games and lie on second position whereas the defending champions, Sunning, are fourth with six points from the same number of games.

According to www.goal.com, Liu Shanshan grabbed a brace with the other goal coming from Wang Shanshan.

“Wuhan made the brightest start in the match as they gained an early lead when Liu Shanshan beat goalkeeper Peng Shimeng with her superb striker from a free kick in the 10th minute. Wuhan doubled the lead when goalkeeper Shimeng denied Shanshan’s attempt off Han Peng’s corner but Shanshan was in the right position to fire home the rebound in the 26th minute,” Goal reported.

“After the break, Wuhan continued from where they left and were rewarded with the third in the 53rd minute when Shimeng saved Liu Shanshan’s effort for Wang Shanshan to tap in the winner.”

The publication reported that Temwa was in action from start to finish whereas sister, Tabitha, could not rescue the defending champions from their first defeat of the season.

Temwa said it was great to continue with the winning run.

“It was a tough game but we got the three points. Tough luck to my sister,” she said.

Tabitha conceded that her side was second best on the day.

“It is a long way to go and we hope we will bounce back to defend the league,” she said.

Both Temwa and Tabitha have two goals each in the Chinese Women’s Super League this season.

Wuhan will face Beijing Phoenix whereas Sunning will meet Zhejiang on Wednesday.
