“Skills contests are very important not only in improving productivity but also promoting staff dedication, determination, creativity and innovation.

“The world now demands production and service delivery to be driven by focus on customer satisfaction and staff skills development ought to be aligned towards improvement of service delivery,” said Gomani.

Toyota Malawi Managing Director, Avinder Reel, said to provide customers with the best experience, the company continually invests in training and development of its people, adding that one example is the skills training.

“Being a global company, it is imperative that we measure our skills against our colleagues in other African countries as we in Toyota believe to give the same level of service and customer experience wherever you visit,” said Reel.
