After experiencing the exhibition of Ellis Singano, who came out with ‘Absent Father’ showing the best of his batik works, Jacaranda Cultural Centre (JCC) in Blantyre hosts another art exhibition which opens Saturday.
JCC will host the exhibition of Balaka-based visual artist, Madalitso Ziwaoh, titled ‘The Beauty in Black’.
This is the first solo exhibition for Ziwaoh, who is determined to show the best of his works.
Having started his craft whilst in standard two, Ziwaoh has grown his talent which has seen him also exhibit his works in Europe.
“I am displaying portraits of different beautiful black people according to the theme ‘The Beauty in Black’. There will also be other works on display. I am happy because this is my first solo exhibition. I am also happy that my exhibition is coming up following the success of another talented visual artist, Ellis Singano’s exhibition,” he said.
The self -taught artist produced his first painting for sale in 2004 and that by 2007 he had started attracting more people but it was later that he began participating in fun fairs and art exhibitions.
“I hope people will patronise this exhibition and I am looking forward to interact with them and at the same time tell them my story. I specialise in fine art, abstracts, wildlife, landscapes, mural 3D paintings and sign writings,” Ziwaoh said.
The free exhibition runs until March 2, 2020.
