Thugs kill CID boss
Unknown thugs have murdered head of Criminal Investigation Department for Chipoka Police Station in Salima, right in her house on Monday night.
Salima Police Publicist, Gift Chitowe, has identified the deceased as Inspector Rhoda Pilirani Ng’oma, 42.
Chitowe said the thugs invaded the deceased house at Chipoka Cear Lines where they also went away with assorted property.
“On the afternoon of 15 August the deceased attended the presidential function and went straight to her house but during the same night unknown thugs broke into her house and killed her,” he said
He said Ng’oma’s body is at Salima District Hospital mortuary pending postmortem.
Ng’oma hailed from Kasanika Village in Tradition Authority (T/A) Chikulamayembe’s area in Rumphi.
Malawians have been asking government to tighten security as thugs continue to terrorise innocent hardworking residents.
In a related development, an angry mob in Salima has stoned to death a man who killed his wife due to a misunderstanding that arose between the two over a house.
According to Chitowe, the two queried over a house that the husband built at his wife’s home village. The house became an issue when the wife decided to divorce her husband.
“This did not please the husband who hit her with a hoe and she died on the spot. Angry villagers arrested the man before they stoned him to death,” he said
The couple came from the area of T/A Khombedza in the district.
