Thunder Queens worsen Alliance Capital Stars woes

Much improved Thunder Queens mercilessly crashed Alliance Capital Stars 57-25 in a Rainbow Paints Southern Region Netball League tie on Sunday.
The defeat came 24 hours after Alliance Capital also suffered an embarrassing defeat to Prison Sisters 49- 37.
As early as the first quarter, Thunder demonstrated their hunger and appetite to win the match when they raced to an early 16-6.
In defence, goalkeeper Joanna Kachilika, goal-defender Martha Dambo and wing defender Esther Kayira were resolute restricting Alliance Capital attackers to shoot from a far.
Alliance Capital tried rotating players Tendai Masamba, Memory Mbewe and Edna Natchengwa but they still failed to breakthrough Thunders defence.
Thunder centre Thandi Galeta was influential in supplying balls to attackers Emily Jere and Sherratie Kaiche, who were in devastating form penalizing Alliance Capital defenders.
At half time, Thunder were leading 31-13 before extending the lead to 43- 18 at the end of the third quarter.
After the match, Thunder and officials were confident that their rebuilding exercise was finally shaping up while Alliance Capital Stars players and officials remained hopeless not knowing what had hit the team over the weekend.
In other matches, leaders Complex Tigresses beat Prison Sisters 64-37 while defending champions Diamonds defeated Shizaella 63-9.
Fast improving Chilomoni Sisters beat Antonio Queens 56-12.
