TNM Super League giants, Silver Strikers have claimed that Thuso Paipi has signed a three-year deal with the club.

The club’s General Secretary, Thabo Chakaka-Nyirenda, disclosed on Wednesday that Paipi is one the verge of completing his permanent move to Silver.

“The issue is that Thuso has signed a contract with us. We made an offer and he accepted. The price was also agreed. A contract was created through exchange of emails. What remains now is for us to make the payment,” Chakaka-Nyirenda said.

“The transfer rules are also clear that the club owning the player cannot force the player to remain with the team he doesn’t want or to join a particular team.”

Paipi has been one of the revelations this season having joined Silver on a season-long loan deal from Wizards FC. However, Wizards Technical Director, Peter Mponda, insisted that no deal had been completed.

“Thuso belongs to Wizards, he is still on loan to Silver until all is finalised. There are high chances that he will be sold to Silver,” insisted Mponda.

Wizards are demanding K3.7 million for the exciting midfielder but Silver are willing to pay K3.2 million.

In a separate interview, Paipi confirmed that he was happy to stay put at Silver.

“Everything is fine and I want to continue playing for Silver for more years,” he said. Reports suggest that Silver have offered Paipi an estimated K1.2 million signing on fees.

The Central Bankers have assembled a youthful squad this season after axing 10 players last season. This season, Silver have reached the Carlsberg Cup final against Be Forward Wanderers and finished the TNM Super League first round on second position with 29 points.
