Mighty Tigers Coach Trevor Kajawa has said his charges will continue working hard despite strengthening their chances of escaping the TNM Super League relegation trap.
“We are not yet safe. We really need to continue working hard to avoid the chop,” Kajawa said.
Tigers, who were stuck at the bottom three for the better part of the season, have moved to position 12 with 31 points from 28 games.
Kajawa hailed the team’s officials for sacrificing resources to motivate the players.
“Our officials are working hard behind the scenes to improve the welfare of our players,” he said.
The Kau-Kau outfit moved up the table after defeating Ntopwa 1-0 at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Saturday. Emmanuel Nyirenda scored Tigers’ crucial goal to boost their survival chances.
The victory pushed Chitipa United into the relegation zone, occupying position 14 with 26 points from 28 games, whereas Blue Eagles are also in survival battle as they are one place above the relegation zone.
Eagles have 29 points from 28 games.
