First Choice Tigresses continued with their chase for Rainbow Paints Blantyre and Districts Netball League championship after crashing Tropical Queens 42-25 at College of Medicine Sports Complex on Saturday.

Now Tigresses need to win all their remaining matches to win the title.

As we went to press yesterday, the Kau-Kau Ladies outfit were second on the table with 32 points from 17 games whereas defending champions Kukoma Diamonds were topping the table with 36 points from 18 games.

As for Tropical, they are out of the title race having amassed 32 points from 19 games.

Meanwhile, Tigresses coach, Peace Chawinga- Kaluwa, said her charges should not falter but fight hard to win the championship.

“We are supposed to win the remaining games as that is the only way to win the league title. Not just winning but winning with more goals since it seems at the end of the day if we win all games it will go back to goal difference since points will level with Diamonds,” she said.

Tigresses were dominant against Tropical as the likes of shooter Tendai Masamba, goal attacker Sindie Simtowe-Msowoya and Beatrice Mpinganjira run riot.

Tropical coach, Christina Mkwanda-Nsinji, said the team would do a thorough assessment to return strongly next season.

“We certainly to fix one or two things to come with full force next season,” she said.

In other games played on Saturday, Diamonds defeated Chilomoni Sisters 69-14 and Machinjiri Sisters 101-6.

Shizaella Queens beat Polytechnic 55-28. Prison Queens also defeated Polytechnic 62-34.
